En-suite shower
The owners of this beautiful panoramic attic in Prague have a specific request: shower and sink in the bedroom. The design response focused on the search for the essential and profound meaning of surfaces and materials; an equipped wall was created and devised as an interactive membrane to which, centimeter by centimeter, different meanings and uses can be assumed. The result is a combination of materials, handcrafted treatments, surface textures, ways of interacting with light. The shower is not a cabin but an intersection between glass tops, the washbasin moves back into a niche, the closure doors activate its ambivalent role: part of the design of the composition and bright angle between the make-up mirrors. The work posed considerable logistical and temporal difficulties and for this reason the care of the preparatory phase was manic. Davide Vizzini of DVDV architecture studio chose the collection concrete effect SET and the logistics of Ceramica Sant’Agostino to create this difficult and quite successful design solution.
